Easy Drivers Radfahrschule receives the “Lions Sustainability Award” for the Re-Cycling project

Easy Drivers Radfahrschule has been awarded the prestigious Lions Sustainability Award 2023/24 for the “Re-Cycling” project. Easy Drivers is partner of this Erasmus+ project, realized in Austria in collaboration with HAK/HAS Leibnitz and the Municipality of Leibnitz.

On May 17th, 2024, the jury of Lions Clubs International District 114-Mitte convened to determine the winners of this year’s Lions Sustainability Award. The “Re-Cycling” project impressed the jury with its sustainable benefits and its importance for the children and adolescents in Leibnitz, and it was selected as the winning project. “The ‘Re-Cycling’ project impressed the jury with its multiple references to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), its originality in demonstrating the circular economy using the example of the life cycle of bicycles, and its multinational orientation,” said DI Josef Mitterwallner, District Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability of Lions International.

To raise awareness for sustainable development and to recognize outstanding achievements in sustainable development, the Central District annually awards the Lions Sustainability Prize. Projects that stand out in the areas of social justice, economic performance, and ecological responsibility are recognized. The project not only promotes eco-friendly mobility but also a healthy lifestyle for children and adolescents.
